A Hagerstown grandmother just turned her lucky bingo winnings into a triple Maryland Lottery scratch-off bonanza, taking home $50,055 in prizes on three Deluxe Cash Crossword instant tickets!
The fan of extended play scratch-offs bought four $5 Deluxe Cash Crossword scratch-offs from the Halfway Food Mart located at 11564 Hopewell Road in Hagerstown. The 65-year-old retiree paid for her purchase with her bingo winnings and enjoyed a wonderful holiday surprise.
“I came home and started to play the tickets,” she said. “I won $5, then $50 and the last ticket was the $50,000 win!” Still in a bit of shock, she triple-checked her ticket and all of the words. With the win confirmed and feeling overjoyed, the winner woke up her husband to share the good news. “He was half asleep,” she said, laughing. “He said. ‘That’s nice,’ and went back to sleep.”
Even though the fortunate player was holding a hot ticket, she also had no trouble sleeping. The Washington County resident claimed the game’s top prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. She plans to pay bills with her winnings and may spend some of the prize on the holidays. The Deluxe Cash Crossword scratch-off game has three remaining $50,000 top prizes and 11 second-tier $10,000 prizes.
